Anchor/Reporter

Eden Checkol joined WPLG in June 2021. She co-anchors the 10 p.m. weeknight newscast on WSFL and also reports on Local 10 News.

Eric joins Local 10 News as a news anchor and reporter. He moves to covering news after spending the last 11 years as an award-winning sports anchor. From 2010-14, Eric was the weekend sports anchor at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis. There he carved a niche as a storyteller, gaining behind the scenes access to athletes.

The station became well known from 1976 to 1982 for its popular anchor team of Glenn Rinker, Ann Bishop, sports anchor Chuck Dowdle and meteorologist Walter Cronise.

Retirement. On February 25, 2008, Dwight Lauderdale announced that he would be retiring in May of that year. WPLG's final broadcast with Lauderdale as an anchor was on May 22, 2008.

She is the chief meteorologist for Noticias WINK and Univision of SWFL on weekdays.

Dorris has received a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society. Dorris, a native of St. Louis, received his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma.

Eden Wood. After her 2009 appearance in Toddlers & Tiaras, Wood branched out with her own show titled Eden's World. The Arkansas native currently works as an actress and gamer. In May 2023, Wood graduated high school as class valedictorian.

Patrick Paolantonio is leaving Milwaukee ABC affiliate WISN after more than 22 years. “Patrick will leave us at the end of the month. He is making that decision for family reasons,” WISN President and general manager Jan Wade told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Kansas City journalist Abby Eden will return to WDAF-TV FOX4's morning show in two months, after leaving the show in January. Eden will rejoin the morning show team on September 25, working alongside FOX4 colleagues including Pat McGonigle, Karli Ritter and Nick Vasos, according to the Nextstar Media Group, Inc.

In announcing her departure on social media Wednesday, Davenport said she is leaving for a new job on the West Coast in a couple of weeks. She provided no further details on her future. She was with Channel 12 for five years and with Channel 12-owner Hearst Television for a total of eight years.
