WG+E is accepting applications for the position of Sales Representative ($81,992-$115,115)

The Sales Executive plays a crucial role in the sales team and ensuring the efficient functioning of sales processes for a municipal natural gas, electric, and fiber company. This position involves a combination of administrative and organizational tasks, as well as collaboration with various departments to facilitate seamless sales operations. This role involves managing and organizing sales-related documentation, including contracts, proposals, and customer orders. Responsibilities of this position include ensuring the accuracy and completeness of sales records, tracking sales activities, and maintaining a systematic filing system. Additionally, the selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating meetings and communication between internal departments, ensuring a seamless flow of information to enhance customer satisfaction and supporting the overall sales strategy.

The selected candidate actively participates in proactively contacting current customers and prospective customers, as well as managing customer interactions, handling inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a high level of customer service. They assist in preparing sales forecasts, analyzing sales data, and generating reports to help the sales team and management to make informed decisions. The role also involves staying updated on industry trends and product knowledge to effectively communicate information to customers. In essence, this role plays a vital role in the sales operations of the Department, contributing to the overall success of the organization’s sales efforts in the natural gas, electric, and fiber telecommunications sectors.

Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Regarding Natural Gas, Electric, and Telecom including Whip City Fiber associated businesses:

· Achieve sales goals and strategic plans based upon metrics determined by SalesManagement that are based on directives from Executive Leadership.

· Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients, effectively communicating the value of Westfield Gas & Electric/Whip City Fiber services.

· Develop and execute strategies to upsell additional services to existing clients that include the Department’s Energy Efficiency Program, VOIP Phone Systems, increasing bandwidth for Whip City Fiber, which will maximize revenue opportunities as well as assisting the customer efficiencies. Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and promotional materials to enhance sales efforts.

· Stay updated on industry and government regulations affecting the Department’s natural gas, electric, and fiber services.

· Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated on advancements in energy and telecommunications technologies.

· Learn, understand an promote the Department’s Energy Efficiency Program. Developing the capabilities for reviewing and approving customer Energy Efficiency Rebates and Incentives.

· Develop strong relationships with local businesses, the Chambers of Commerce for communities served and with community leaders, Community Partners/Municipal Light Plant’s etc. Support the Key Account/Sales Manager with sales planning, execution and post-sale duties.

· Provide post-sales support by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Communicate effectively with the Key Accounts/Sales Manager and the Technical Sales Executive.

· Utilize software and tools to manage customer interactions, track sales leads, maintain and present accurate records.

· Coordinate with internal departments to facilitate seamless service delivery and troubleshoot technical concerns. Act as a liaison between the sales team and other internal departments to streamline communication and enhance overall operational efficiency.

· Provide temporary coverage to Key Account/Sales Manager during vacation or sick time

Qualifications & Entrance Requirements include:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the energy or telecommunications industry.

· Strong understanding of gas, electric, and fiber services, including technical aspects and benefits.

· Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and revenue goals.

· Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.

· Promote a positive front facing representation of the Department to both internal and external customers.

· Demonstrated experience and ability to coordinate and bring interested parties together, both private and public, resulting in mutual benefits for both the customer and the Department.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust internally and externally.

· Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on driving business growth and customer satisfaction.

· Knowledge of energy and telecommunication industry and terminology.

· Able to represent WGE and WCF at networking, informational and educational events.

· Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to always present oneself in a professional manner at various levels inside and outside of the organization.

· Proficiency in a Customer Relationship Management software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

· Proficient utilizing Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to develop proposals, spreadsheets, reports, communications and presentations.

· Must have and maintain at a minimum a valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license.
